If your child has an adventurous spirit and a curiosity for how things work, AeroCamp will broaden their horizons. Our youth aviation programs, AeroCamp and AeroChapter, give future aviators the full experience of aviation history, airport operations, and aircraft functionality while having fun and making new friends along the way.
Cadets explore airport facilities such as our fire and aircraft maintenance departments, take field trips to aviation museums, and work through hands-on activities designed to inspire careers in aviation, aeronautics, avionics, meteorology, safety inspection, and engineering.

Enrollment
Requirements
AeroCamp 1.0 is the entry point for cadets ages 12 to 16 and is a prerequisite for AeroCamp 2.0 and 3.0. Camp days run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with drop-off and pick-up at our offices at Piedmont Triad International Airport (KGSO).
- AeroCamp 1.0 (ages 12-16): 4-day introduction to flight and airport operations
- AeroCamp 2.0 (ages 13-16): requires completion of AeroCamp 1.0
- AeroCamp 3.0 (ages 14-16): 3-day advanced camp with an overnight flight to Dare County; requires completion of AeroCamp 1.0 and 2.0
Where AeroCamp
Can Take You
Many AeroCamp cadets continue on to AeroChapter, our school-year youth program with a stronger emphasis on piloting. AeroChapter cadets log ground school and flight time, including a solo private pilot session and group flights covering pre-flight checks, weather briefings, and route planning.

Your AeroCamp
Journey
AeroCamp 1.0 (Ages 12-16)
A 4-day introduction to flight, airport operations, and North Carolina's aeronautical history. Prerequisite for AeroCamp 2.0 and 3.0.
AeroCamp 2.0 (Ages 13-16)
Builds on AeroCamp 1.0 with deeper hands-on exploration of aeronautics and airport operations. Requires completion of AeroCamp 1.0.
AeroCamp 3.0 (Ages 14-16)
Our advanced 3-day camp, including a flight to Dare County with an overnight stay. Requires completion of AeroCamp 1.0 and 2.0.
AeroChapter (Ages 12-16)
Continue during the school year with ground school, a solo private pilot session, and group flights that build toward a Private Pilot License.
